city hall elopement | Chicago, IL
Waiting in the very long Saturday morning line at Chicago city hall, many couples stood looking straight ahead, some of them hardly speaking to each other. But Danielle + Justin were so excited to take the train from Michigan to Chicago for the weekend so they could get married. They cuddled and smooched, and I knew capturing their love story through the city of Chicago would be easy.
What was supposed to be a cold and cloudy day, was a lovely Spring afternoon with nothing but blue skies. The Riverwalk was a perfect spot for a view of the Chicago River and the Wrigley Building...and the South Garden at the Art Institute was a quiet respite from the crowds at Millennium Park.
Along the way, I told them I had a little surprise coffee spot to take them, the Pickwick on Jackson, one of the coolest little spots in the Loop. And photos in front of the Board of Trade on Jackson were a must...since Jackson is their last name!
Looking at the images from their day, my favorite thing about Danielle + Justin was the way Justin looked at her. Always, even when she was off-camera. And when Danielle + Justin gathered to pray that God would bless their marriage in the quietest place we could find (an alley!), I felt so blessed to be able to witness their wedding and capture their beautiful day.
