snowy winter farm wedding | historic old mill creek, illinois

Melissa + Wes found one another a little over a year ago, and they immediately God had been preparing them for one another. Wes living in Cincinnati, and Melissa living in Indy, made for a lot of travel back and forth, so once they were engaged, it was a race to make all their wedding preparations (from long-distance, since they were married in the Chicago area!). But they made it work, and the day was perfection.

Below is a highlight video from their day...

Faith, family and friends. It was immediately clear to everyone at Melissa + Wes' wedding that these were the most important things to them that day. Their ceremony was held at a sweet little historic chapel in Old Mill Creek, Illinois, filled with beautiful, but simple stained glass.  The entire service was filled with prayer, worship and scripture, the latter being beautifully by led by Wes' grandfather. Melissa's father, who had passed away, was honored by a candle lit by Melissa's mother, and the bride's brother sweetly walked her down the aisle.

Following the ceremony, the couple, along with their wedding party, head off to a nearby farm for photos...the shelter of the the barn being kindly lent by a woman who didn't even know the couple! She had set out flowers and champagne, along with blankets to keep the bridesmaids warm. Melissa wore a mink coat that had originally been made for Olivia Newton John...and the warmth was needed, because it snowed during our entire photo session. It was quiet and beautiful, just like their day.
