3 Questions to Ask About Your Brand Photos

Have you ever asked yourself this question: are your brand photos really telling the story of your brand?woman in a blazer leaning against a chair, holding a glass of champagne and smiling

If your images are old, generic, or inconsistent, you might not be telling your future clients what you want them to hear.

Here are a few questions to ask about your brand photos to find out if it’s time for you to book a personal brand photo shoot:

Question 1: Are your images old?

Sure, that photo of you is cute, but now you’re older, your hair color is different, and the edit used on the image makes it look dated. You want your potential clients to know what you really look like when they meet you.

Showing who you are now shows your audience that you’re genuine, even if you look older and you’d prefer to lose a few lbs. Your audience will love you for being authentic and they’ll trust you more for it.

Also, having up-to-date images shows that YOU are current, and you understand the current needs of your client.

When you first create your website, purchasing stock images is a great way to get things going. However, using real images from your brand will be far more effective in helping your audience connect with you.

Instead of a stock image some notebooks and desk papers, how about images of you working with props that illustrate what you really do?

And by all means, if you have stock photos that include random people, definitely update those to include you (and your

If you have images on your website that are from a variety of sources –  several professional sessions mixed with a few your friend took with her phone – you definitely need a personal brand session.

Also, if you’re planning a website refresh, you should plan on booking a personal brand session BEFORE you do the redesign, so your photographer can be part of the process with your website designer.
