How to Create Raving Fans of Your Brand

I have a confession.

I recently became obsessed with Starbucks iced lavender cream oat milk matcha. If I’m feeling spicy, I’ll order it dirty.

And it got me to thinking about what we offer our clients.

First, a little backstory.

I ordered my first first iced lavender cream oat milk matcha latte before St Patrick’s Day, solely because it was green and it sounded interesting. The person in the drive-thru told me it was delicious so I gave it a try.

It was love at first sip.

Ok so even though I’ve gone to Starbucks regularly for years, and have always ordered $3-ish shots of iced espresso, now I will happily hand over close to $8 to get this drink. I like other drinks at Starbucks fine, but somehow it feels right to me to spend that amount of money on this drink that just honestly…brings me so much joy.

Here are 3 lessons my iced lavender cream oat milk matcha latte obsession can teach us about what we offer our clients:

Delight your clients

You have the opportunity to delight your customers every single day just by offering them the very best of what you can do. So often, we get caught up in trying to create new offers, but do your customers really want something new, or do they just want the most amazing experience you can give them? Give more love to what you already have (and offer that at a higher price).

Create raving fans of your brand

If you have a band of loyal fans, call on them to help you spread the word about your business or the products they love. After I had my first few sips of this drink, I was in my Instagram stories talking all about it! Nothing beats word-of-mouth marketing. Who are your biggest fans? How can you get them involved in sharing about what you do?

Be unique…and show that off!

I’ve ordered iced matcha lattes before, and they’re…meh. The thing that makes this drink so magical is the lavender cold foam (and probably the oatmilk)! I’ve never heard of lavender cold foam before — and even if someone else uses it, I wouldn’t know where to find it. Stop competing with others in your industry by trying to one-up them. Take a step back, find out what you do that NO ONE else does, and shout that from the mountaintops.
