Calligrapher & Engraver,
Nerissa B Calligraphy

Nerissa of Nerissa B Calligraphy came into this session ready for more than just updated photos. As a creative entrepreneur and wedding professional, she had already built a strong foundation. But her visuals weren’t fully reflecting the level of her work or where her brand was headed. What started as a need for brand photos quickly evolved into a full rebrand and website redesign, supported by strategic visuals designed to elevate her entire online presence.

Client Objectives

Objective 1

Objective 2

Objective 3

Nerissa's main objective for her brand shoot was that we get lots of beautiful photos for the website she was having designed. She needed pretty much everything, since she wasn't going to carry over any of her previous website photos.

Nerissa had a goal of reaching more luxury wedding clients with her work. So it was super important her images and video felt elevated and luxe, so they would naturally speak to couples looking for the most special details for their wedding.

While Nerissa had worked with some top luxury brands in Chicago for on-site brand activations, she wanted more. And after our session, she booked a dreamy high-end client!

The FRAME Method

Since Nerissa didn't want a typically "fussy" looking website, we leaned more to vintage with a modern twist to all her ideas. Nerissa also hired brand and web designer, Jess at By Vividly Made, so I collaborated with her to come up with the photos that would be ideal for this shoot.

Location

When I first began discussing a location for Nerissa's shoot, I recalled that I had seen a beautiful house rental that looked oh, so French and included accents of her exact brand colors. She was all in, and it was perfect! We also moved locations to Nerissa's nearby Chicago studio so we could get some photos of her doing engraving work.

Shot List

We had a location with a variety of beautiful spaces, so I built the shoot list around the particular rooms we would be shooting in: a beautiful, dark and romantic room at a vintage desk was perfect for some stunning photos of Nerissa doing her calligraphy.

However, we also wanted brand images of her designing on her tablet, as well as doing her calligraphy on a mirror. And since Nerissa is aiming for luxury wedding clients, we decided to throw in a few celebratory photos — complete with champagne and macarons, of course!

What Nerissa Says...

Nerissa B Calligraphy
Calligrapher and engraver

When I decided to rebrand my calligraphy business, Lisa was the first vendor I booked. Lisa's level of preparation leading up to our branding shoot was so detailed; and her energy was so positive that I couldn't help but be excited about the process. She found the location for our shoot, which was a GEM. She was a resource for a great web designer and clothing stylist I hired for the shoot.

Being able to trust her through the planning process allowed me to be more at ease—even confident—during the photo shoot. The photos themselves are not only lovely, but they feel true to me and my work. Thank you, Lisa!
